On June 5, Dongfeng Motor announced that its new autonomous logistics brand, OpenVAN, will officially launch in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, on June 6. The brand will unveil four Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving logistics vehicles, built on a proprietary vehicle platform developed by Dongfeng and equipped with an L4 advanced intelligent driving system co-developed with Jushi Intelligence. The four models are clearly positioned according to different logistics capacity requirements: - The DF-8, dubbed the "Urban Logistics All-Rounder," offers 8 cubic meters of cargo space and a payload capacity of 3.5 tons. Featuring a rare dual rear-wheel configuration in the industry, it delivers a maximum range of 260 kilometers, a turning radius of just 4.4 meters, and supports over ten customizable body options. - The DF-2, named the "Delivery Elf," provides 2 cubic meters of cargo volume and a 1-ton payload, ideal for last-mile parcel delivery in residential communities and short-haul supermarket logistics. - The DF-25, branded the "Campus Future Star," boasts 25 cubic meters of capacity and a 6-ton payload. Equipped with a four-door structure, it improves loading and unloading efficiency by 40%, targeting high-volume transportation within industrial parks and factory campuses. - The DF-60, titled the "Long-Haul New Force," features 60 cubic meters of cargo space and an 18-ton payload capacity. With its dual-side wing doors that open fully, it enhances loading and unloading efficiency by 50%.
