Kia North America has filed a recall for 6,264 units of the 2027 Telluride and Telluride Hybrid vehicles. According to a notice issued by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 5, the recall stems from a potential issue with the driver’s seat belt emergency locking retractor, which may unexpectedly lock and prevent the seat belt webbing from being properly extended. In the event of a crash, this defect could impair the seat belt’s ability to effectively restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.
