Following a severe operational crisis at Baolide, a leading luxury car dealership in eastern China, the company's actual controller, Yu Haijun, and several key executives have recently been criminally detained. According to informed sources, the case will be investigated by a designated public security organ outside the jurisdiction where the company is headquartered, within Zhejiang Province. Post-collapse financial audits revealed that Baolide maintained two sets of accounting books: one used for external audits, which was largely accurate, and another used for financing and external presentations, which contained serious falsifications. Investors allege that Yu Haijun and his legal spouse, Chen Yingfei, are suspected of embezzling substantial company funds and leveraging their long-standing government-business connections as credit endorsements to gain investor trust during fundraising activities. Baolide has now entered bankruptcy liquidation proceedings.
