At COMPUTEX 2026, BMW and E Ink jointly unveiled a color-changing e-paper concept car. The vehicle features E Ink’s latest E Ink Prism full-color, formable e-paper material, which—through stretching and thermoforming processes—conforms seamlessly to complex three-dimensional surfaces such as the car body and wheel rims, enabling dynamic, programmable color changes. The two companies have collaborated for several years and previously launched the production version of the iX3 Flow Edition with an e-paper hood at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Additionally, at the show, E Ink introduced a comprehensive e-paper display solution tailored for electric buses. This includes E Ink Prism exterior dynamic advertising panels and rear directional warning systems, 7.3-inch dual-sided E Ink Spectra 6 overhead loop advertising displays, 25.3-inch interactive route maps using E Ink Kaleido 3, and medium-to-large-sized interior E Ink Spectra 6 e-paper advertising panels.
