GAC Trumpchi Unveils New Rugged NEV SUV Yue 7 with PHEV System and Advanced ADAS

GAC Trumpchi recently released official images of its new rugged new energy SUV—the Trumpchi Yue 7. Featuring a boxy "square-box" design, the vehicle is positioned as a plug-in hybrid rugged off-road SUV. Exterior-wise, the front fascia adopts a closed-off design and integrates three vertically arranged daytime running lights. A LiDAR unit is mounted on the front section of the roof, and sensor hardware is embedded in the front fenders, indicating the vehicle will support advanced driver-assistance functions. The side profile continues the rugged styling, equipped with wide flared wheel arches, all-terrain (AT) off-road tires, side steps, floating-style exterior mirrors, and flush-mounted mechanical door handles. Additional features include a roof rack, a rear-mounted "spare tire carrier" storage box (commonly nicknamed the "little backpack"), and an externally mounted spare tire. At the rear, vertically oriented taillights are combined with the externally mounted spare tire, complemented by a side-hinged tailgate and hidden exhaust outlets. Under the hood, the Trumpchi Yue 7 is powered by a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, with the engine delivering a maximum output of 125 kW. The chassis setup includes an integrated embedded ladder frame, front and rear dog-clutch differential locks along with a central power lock, air suspension, and continuously variable damping shock absorbers—offering balanced performance for both urban driving and off-road capability.
