On June 8, Xiaomi launched its 17T series smartphones in an event lasting less than 20 minutes. During the launch, a Xiaomi robot demonstrated the 17T Pro’s telephoto photography capabilities by holding the device and using the volume buttons to zoom and take photos. The robot is based on the Xiaomi CyberOne platform, featuring a redesigned bionic hand that is 60% smaller in volume and offers 64% more degrees of freedom. It is equipped with tactile sensors covering 8,200 square millimeters across the entire palm, has a gripping operation cycle life exceeding 150,000 cycles, and incorporates a biomimetic sweat gland design for enhanced heat dissipation. At Xiaomi’s automobile factory, the robot has already been deployed at the self-tapping nut assembly station, where it successfully operated continuously for three hours, achieving a 90.2% success rate in simultaneous bilateral installations—meeting the production line’s 76-second cycle time requirement.
