On June 8, Ma Lin, Vice President of NIO, launched a guessing game inviting netizens to predict the brand's average transaction price in June, revealing that NIO’s average transaction price last week had already exceeded RMB 450,000. Earlier, in May this year, Li Bin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NIO, stated during the Q1 2026 earnings call that China's smart EV market has transitioned from a period of brand confusion into one of clarification. He noted that NIO’s average transaction price in Q1 2024 stood at RMB 390,000—RMB 50,000 higher than BMW’s and 1.5 times that of Audi’s—and that in the Yangtze River Delta region, Shanghai, and other first-tier cities, NIO’s market share has surpassed that of certain traditional luxury brands. Li also highlighted that as NIO continues expanding its battery swap network, acceptance of pure electric vehicles is gradually increasing among consumers in lower-tier cities (tier 3–5), providing further growth momentum for the company’s current and upcoming products in China’s passenger vehicle market.
