The Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF), in collaboration with automotive media outlet Motor, recently released the results of their annual "El Prix" summer range test, which evaluated 24 electric vehicle models under real-world conditions. The testing was conducted in ideal conditions—dry roads and ambient temperatures between 12°C and 18°C—with the key evaluation metric being the percentage of the official WLTP-rated range actually achieved during testing. The XPeng X9 achieved a real-world range of 646 km, surpassing its official WLTP rating of 580 km by 11.4%, resulting in an impressive achievement rate of 111.4%—the highest among all tested vehicles. The BMW iX3 recorded the longest absolute range at 781 km but only exceeded its WLTP rating by 1.5%. The Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 and GLB 350 achieved 665 km and 593 km respectively, corresponding to achievement rates of 103.4% and 105.3%. Among Chinese brands, the Smart #5, MG S6, and Dongfeng Vigo delivered real-world ranges of 556 km, 502 km, and 348 km respectively, all exceeding their WLTP ratings (achievement rates above 100%). In contrast, the MG IM6 (also known as the IM LS6) managed only 446 km against its WLTP rating of 505 km, yielding an achievement rate of 88.3%—the lowest of the entire test group. The BYD Atto EVO and Deepal S05 achieved 460 km and 431 km respectively, with achievement rates of 97.9% and 96.9%. Of the 24 vehicles tested, 13 exceeded their official WLTP range ratings, and most models stayed within a ±5% deviation from their WLTP figures. Notably, the XPeng G9 previously won the achievement rate title in the same 2023 test by surpassing its WLTP range by 13%.
