On June 7, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. (DFLZ) unveiled its "15th Five-Year" strategic plan and announced a partnership with Huawei's Qiankun Smart Driving, under which all future Forthing-branded vehicles will be equipped with Huawei’s advanced intelligent driving technology. The two companies have built a solid seven-year collaboration foundation, covering the implementation of process capabilities such as Integrated Product Development (IPD), Integrated Project Management System (IPMS), and quality management systems. Chen Lai, Deputy General Manager of DFLZ’s Passenger Vehicle Sales Company, stated that while the company will leverage Huawei’s strengths, it will not become overly dependent on it. The ultimate goal is to make advanced intelligent driving accessible to ordinary Chinese households with monthly incomes of just RMB 3,000–5,000. Backed by Liuzhou’s robust industrial base and Dongfeng Group’s scale advantages, Forthing emphasizes maintaining product quality while achieving cost efficiency and agile supply chain responsiveness—key enablers of its affordable pricing strategy. Concurrently, the company launched its “725 Dual Leadership” strategy: targeting annual sales of 70,000 commercial vehicles and aiming for 250,000 passenger vehicles, with a strong focus on the MPV segment. Its overseas business aims to reach annual sales of 155,000 units by 2030. With 25 years of MPV development experience, Forthing annually dispatches teams to Japan to study the MPV market, gaining deep insights into spatial design. Its mid-to-large-size MPV, the Xinghai V9, has recently been upgraded with enhanced smart features tailored for discerning MPV users. Additionally, the company is expanding its SUV lineup with the Xinghai V6, which blends MPV-like spaciousness with SUV-level off-road capability. Meanwhile, the Xinghai S7 will no longer receive significant resources for major updates. Forthing champions the product philosophy of “comprehensively balanced luxury that remains affordable,” striving to systematically address core pain points faced by family car users.
