Dongfeng and Huawei's Joint EV, the Yijing X9, Rolls Off Pilot Production Line; Set for Debut and Delivery at Chengdu Auto Show in September

On June 8, the Yijing X9—a large six-seat flagship SUV jointly developed by Dongfeng Motor and Huawei—completed its small-batch trial production and rolled off the assembly line, marking a critical step ahead of its market launch. The vehicle is scheduled to make its official debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in September and begin nationwide deliveries shortly thereafter. Over the next three years, the Yijing brand plans to successively launch five new models. The Yijing X9 features the "Latitude-Longitude Lightflow" design language and is equipped with the Starry Stream intelligent lighting system. Its front fascia integrates a continuous light strip measuring 1.83 meters in length. All variants come standard with Huawei’s Qiankun In-Car Lighting “trinity” suite. In terms of intelligence, the X9 is powered by Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 autonomous driving system, the next-generation HarmonySpace 6 cockpit based on HarmonyOS, an 896-line dual-path imaging-grade LiDAR, and the CAS 5.0 collision avoidance system, enabling fully proactive predictive driving capabilities. Inside the cabin, an integrated AMS AI multimodal perception system monitors occupants’ states and anticipates their operational needs. The powertrain will be offered in both extended-range and all-electric variants, with the extended-range version delivering a CLTC-rated combined range exceeding 1,200 kilometers. To meet high-end manufacturing requirements, Dongfeng’s Chengdu branch has completed comprehensive upgrades to its production line, enhancing automation, digitalization, and flexibility.
