Deepal L06 Tops May NEV Midsize Car Sales

The Deepal L06 topped China’s new energy midsize sedan segment (priced between RMB 130,000 and RMB 200,000) in May 2026 with retail sales of 6,723 units, surpassing the Arcfox Alpha S5 (5,578 units) and the BYD Seal 06 DM (5,504 units). Launched in November 2025 with a price range of RMB 134,900 to RMB 156,900, the L06 saw its May deliveries increase by 30% month-over-month, marking the third consecutive month with monthly sales exceeding 5,000 units. The Deepal L06 is the first mass-produced Chinese-brand vehicle equipped with magnetorheological suspension, offering a response time of under 10 milliseconds and the ability to adjust damping up to 1,000 times per second. In terms of intelligent features, all variants come standard with a LiDAR sensor and 27 perception hardware units, powered by dual Horizon Robotics J6M chips delivering 256 TOPS of computing power, enabling highway and urban navigation assistance as well as intelligent parking functions. The powertrain utilizes CATL battery cells and Deepal’s proprietary “Golden Bell Shield” battery system, providing a maximum CLTC range of 670 km for the BEV variant and 245 km of pure electric range (with a combined range of 1,505 km) for the extended-range version.
