A boxy SUV from the Stelato brand, described as a "highly anticipated model," has entered the final sprint phase of mass production. Recently, Zhang Jianyong, Chairman of BAIC Group, led a team to visit the production floor of BAIC New Energy's Stelato Super Factory, urging and encouraging teams from both BAIC and Huawei to fully ensure the smooth mass production of this vehicle. Zhang stated that building the Stelato brand is a key strategic priority for BAIC Group, carrying the mission of driving BAIC’s self-owned brands toward premiumization, and that the mass production and delivery of this new model will usher the Stelato brand into a new phase. Although BAIC has not officially disclosed specific details about the vehicle, multiple sources indicate that the new SUV features a bold, boxy exterior design with newly styled headlights, marking a clear departure from the brand’s existing family design language. A subtle raised structure is visible on the roof, likely reserved for Huawei’s Qiankun 896-line dual-path imaging-grade LiDAR system. Peng Lei, Huawei Smart Selection Vehicle Product Director (Stelato series), previously confirmed that the SUV had completed its official product announcement submission last week and is set to debut soon. Spy photos of the vehicle have already been publicly released.
