NIO ES8 Tops Large SUV and Premium Segment Sales for Seventh Straight Month, Claims May Crown

In May 2026, NIO’s ES8 achieved retail sales of 11,472 units, securing the top spot in both the large SUV segment and the premium market above RMB 400,000 for the sixth consecutive month. It was also the only model in this segment to surpass 10,000 units sold that month. Since November 2025, the ES8 has recorded monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units for seven consecutive months. The all-new ES8 features NIO’s latest design language, with flush-mounted body-side water-cut lines and completely flat side glass. It measures 5,280 mm in length, 2,010 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, and is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations. For intelligent driving, the ES8 is equipped with the AQUILA Super Sensing System featuring three LiDAR units. The interior includes a next-generation smart cockpit with a 38-inch AR head-up display and a 15.6-inch landscape-oriented central touchscreen, supporting Dolby Vision. Powering the ES8 is a dual-motor setup delivering a combined output of 520 kW, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.97 seconds. It comes with a 102 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 635 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle utilizes a 900V high-voltage fast-charging and battery-swap architecture, with a maximum voltage of 925V, peak charging power of 600 kW, and peak charging current of 765A.
