BYD Seagull 08 Launches New "Sea Mist Purple" Color with Over 1,000 km EV Range

On June 10, Zhang Zhuo, General Manager of BYD Auto’s Ocean Network Sales Division, unveiled a new exclusive paint color for the Seagull 08—“Sea Mist Purple.” Inspired by the sea mist at dawn, this low-saturation purple-gray hue is finished with BASF clear-coat technology typically reserved for million-dollar luxury vehicles. The Seagull 08 made its global debut in March 2024, measuring 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. It is offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The all-electric version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, delivering an official claimed range exceeding 1,000 km and capable of gaining 400 km of range with just five minutes of charging. The plug-in hybrid variant features BYD’s DM-i system paired with a 115 kW engine. All models come standard with an advanced driver-assistance system, BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride-A intelligent chassis control system, and rear-wheel steering technology. The interior adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language, featuring a “Dawn Light Beige” cabin color scheme. The dashboard and door panels are adorned with unique iridescent mother-of-pearl trim pieces—each with one-of-a-kind grain patterns. Additional features include dual front zero-gravity seats, ventilated/heated/massaging seats throughout the cabin, illuminated welcome lighting, power-closing doors on all four sides, double-glazed acoustic glass across the entire vehicle, eight magnetic accessory mounting points, and an automotive-grade tissue dispenser.
