According to the proposed list for the 408th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. has applied for an amendment to its manufacturing authorization, adding extended-range electric passenger vehicles to its product lineup. The production address listed is No. 21 Yard, Huanjing Road, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, Beijing—the location of Xiaomi’s Beijing automobile plant. Previously, senior executives at Xiaomi Group revealed that the company plans to launch a mid-to-large-size vehicle built on a new platform in the second half of this year, along with multiple derivative variants. Additionally, Xiaomi has filed trademark applications for names such as “Xun Tian” and “SKYNOMAD,” and its first extended-range full-size SUV was recently spotted undergoing low-camouflage road testing.
