Li Auto will hold its Livis Day Software and Artificial Intelligence Launch Event on June 15 at 16:30, focusing on the definition and value of embodied intelligence, as well as Li Auto’s strategic direction in this field. Addressing external criticism that the company is “straying from its core business,” Li Auto CEO Li Xiang stated that the company has long been contemplating how AI can enter the physical world and create value, believing that vehicle-based embodied intelligence could become the first AI-powered robot to enter the physical world. Li revealed that the event will unveil multiple previously undisclosed plans for the first time, covering key topics such as standards for embodied intelligence, user value, and timelines for public availability. He expects that after the launch event, the public will recognize Li Auto as being “deeply focused on its core mission.” According to prior reports, during an all-hands meeting in January, Li Xiang shared his insights on AI trends, asserting that 2026 represents the final window for companies to become leaders in AI, and that Level 4 autonomous driving will be deployed no later than 2028. He emphasized that Li Auto will invest in foundational models, chips, operating systems, and embodied intelligence, aiming to become one of no more than three globally integrated AI companies. Additionally, Li Auto has confirmed it will develop humanoid robots beyond automobiles, with two products currently planned: a two-wheeled robot and a bipedal robot. The two-wheeled robot has already been developed and is expected to launch in mid-2024, initially deployed in factory manufacturing scenarios. Its technical approach draws inspiration from Tesla—first iterating capabilities in closed environments before gradually expanding into the consumer market. During the Q1 earnings call earlier this year, Li Xiang also noted that, in the long term, humanoid robots will be needed across factories, retail stores, and end-user settings, and that startups, mid-sized enterprises valued in the hundreds of billions, and large tech companies will all enter this赛道 (sector).
