BYD Seagull 08 Flagship Sedan Launches Late June to Early July with BEV and PHEV Options

BYD Ocean Network’s new flagship sedan, the Seagull 08, is expected to launch in late June to early July. The pre-reservation price for the 785 km all-wheel-drive flagship variant is RMB 250,000. Exterior design carries forward the Ocean-S concept car’s styling language, featuring a closed-off front grille paired with elongated headlights. Air intakes integrate starry ambient lighting, and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit comes standard, along with BYD’s “God’s Eye B” intelligent driving assistance system. Measuring 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,505 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm, the vehicle sports a fastback rear profile and minimalist taillight design. Inside, the Seagull 08 adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 cabin theme, equipped with a floating center touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and an onboard refrigerator. Powertrain options include both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants: - The BEV version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery. The AWD model delivers a peak output of 510 kW, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a maximum CLTC range of 900 km. - The PHEV variant features a 1.5T hybrid powertrain with dual motors producing a combined 400 kW, offering 400 km of pure electric range and over 1,000 km of total combined range. The Seagull 08 also comes equipped with rear-wheel steering and BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride-A chassis technology.
