HaoSi Power's Hybrid Innovation Wins UK Autocar Sturmey Award

On June 10, 2026, at the Autocar Annual Awards ceremony held in London, UK, Horse Powertrain was honored with the Autocar Sturmey Award for its innovative hybrid powertrain solutions. CEO Matias Giannini accepted the award in person from Matt Prior, Autocar’s Contributing Editor. Founded in 1895, Autocar is one of the world’s oldest automotive publications. The Sturmey Award, established in 2014 and named after the magazine’s founder Henry Sturmey, is Autocar’s most prestigious accolade. Past recipients include Tesla, Aston Martin, Dacia, Polestar, and Jaguar Land Rover. The judging panel highly commended Horse Powertrain’s technological approach and innovation capabilities. Its X-Range series of range-extended electric powertrains enables OEMs to convert pure-electric native platforms into hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and extended-range electric vehicle models. Additionally, the company has achieved breakthrough progress in improving powertrain thermal efficiency and reducing carbon intensity in both internal combustion engine and hybrid vehicles. In his acceptance speech, Matias Giannini stated that the award recognizes the global team’s efforts toward achieving net-zero emissions in the automotive industry and emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing low-carbon transportation through a diversified portfolio of technologies—including electrification, alternative fuels, and high-efficiency hybrid systems. Mark Tisshaw, Editor-in-Chief of Autocar, noted that Horse Powertrain has demonstrated both technical ingenuity and commercial value by redefining internal combustion engine technology, showing foresight and courage through its forward-looking strategy amid the industry’s full-scale shift toward electrification.
