The BYD Seal 08 has appeared on dealers' internal pre-payment lists, with the "785km AWD Flagship" variant listed at a pre-payment amount of RMB 250,000—lower than the previously announced official price range of RMB 300,000–350,000. The vehicle is expected to officially launch by the end of this month or early next month. The Seal 08 is BYD Ocean Network’s first large flagship sedan, globally unveiled in March 2024. It features the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language and offers exterior color options including Akua Coral Red, Mist White, Luster Silver, Sea Mist Purple, and Poseidon Green. The front fascia adopts a closed-off design, complemented by semi-recessed door handles and floating wheel hub caps, while the rear features a full-width light bar. Inside, the new model debuts an all-new flagship cabin named “Dawn Light Beige,” with mother-of-pearl ambient trim panels integrated into the center console and door panels. Key features include dual front zero-gravity seats, ventilated/heated/massaging seats for all occupants, welcome lighting carpets, power-closing doors on all four sides, double-glazed acoustic glass throughout, eight magnetic accessory mounting points, and an automotive-grade tissue dispenser. Measuring 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,505 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm, the Seal 08 will be offered in both BEV and PHEV variants. The BEV version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology—claimed to add 400 km of range in just five minutes of charging, with a potential CLTC range exceeding 1,000 km. The PHEV variant features BYD’s DM-i system, powered by an engine delivering a maximum output of 115 kW. The vehicle will also come equipped with rear-wheel steering and the Yunniu-A intelligent body control system.
