Shanghai Adjusts 2026 Auto Trade-in Subsidy Lottery to Daily Instant Draws

According to the "Detailed Implementation Rules for Shanghai's 2026 Vehicle Trade-in Subsidy Policy," the lottery mechanism for Shanghai’s 2026 vehicle trade-in subsidy program will be adjusted from June 9 to September 30. Eligible individual consumers may register daily between 7:00 and 22:00 via the official “Shanghai Commerce” platform under the section “Government Services – Vehicle Trade-in Subsidy Application” to participate in an instant lottery draw. At the time of registration, the system will connect in real time to the State Taxation Administration’s National VAT Invoice Verification Platform to verify the invoice for the newly purchased vehicle. Consumers whose invoices pass verification and who are selected in the lottery will obtain eligibility to apply for the subsidy. Those whose invoices pass verification but are not selected may re-register starting the following day. Consumers can check their lottery results through the registration channel, and all successful selections will be filed with a third-party notary institution. Any matters not covered herein shall remain subject to the "Detailed Implementation Rules for Shanghai's 2026 Vehicle Trade-in Subsidy Policy." Further adjustments to the lottery mechanism will be made based on policy implementation progress and announced separately.
