MG will unveil a new all-electric compact concept car during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Preview images reveal a fresh design language distinctly different from recent models like the MG4 EV Urban and MGS5 EV. The production version of this concept is scheduled to launch next year, with international media previously reporting that it is expected to be named the MG2. David Allison, Head of MG UK, has stated that the small car segment is a key focus for the brand’s next phase, emphasizing that MG will prioritize “value” over simply offering the lowest price. He noted that the MG2 will follow a strategy similar to that of the MG ZS, delivering higher specifications and larger dimensions at a competitive price point. The new model will be built on the same modular scalable platform as the MG4 EV and is expected to feature a rear-wheel-drive layout. Additionally, MG will showcase another yet-to-be-detailed, all-electric “aspirational” vehicle design vision at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
