According to the public notice of the 408th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Dongfeng Yipai EP7 all-electric sedan has been officially filed. Co-developed by Dongfeng Yipai and Huawei Qiankun, the EP7 is the second model resulting from their collaboration and will be equipped with Huawei Qiankun intelligent technologies, potentially including Qiankun Intelligent Driving and HarmonyOS Cockpit features. Final specifications will be confirmed upon official release. Filing data shows that the EP7 measures 4,910 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,478 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Its curb weight is 2,058 kg, and gross vehicle weight is 2,458 kg. The vehicle will be offered in a dual-motor variant, with motor rated outputs of 55 kW and 100 kW, and peak outputs of 175 kW and 230 kW, respectively. The battery, supplied by CATL, uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. Additionally, the EP7 offers optional configurations such as multiple wheel rim color schemes and an electric rear spoiler. Dongfeng Yipai is Dongfeng Motor Group’s new energy vehicle brand, launched on November 10, 2023, with its first model being the mid-size sedan eπ007. According to the partnership roadmap unveiled by both parties at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25, 2026, three models featuring Huawei Qiankun Smart Automotive Solutions are scheduled for launch within the year. The first collaborative model, the Dongfeng Yipai M8—positioned as a “flagship intelligent large six-seater SUV”—made its global debut in May 2026 and is set to appear at the Greater Bay Area Auto Show on May 29, 2026. The M8 integrates Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 Pro intelligent driving system, HarmonyOS Cockpit, Qiankun Vehicle Control, Qiankun Vehicle Cloud, and WhaleFin communications technologies, and is equipped with CATL batteries alongside components from Bosch, Fuyao, and other supply chain partners.
