On June 12, Great Wall Motor announced that, based on suggestions from 7,875 online users, it has raised the chassis of its Gaoshan 7 model by 30 millimeters and officially renamed it the WEY Gaoshan 7 SUV Edition. The vehicle will be unveiled at a launch event on June 16. The revised model now features a minimum ground clearance of 185 mm, comparable to mainstream urban SUVs. The new SUV measures 5,149 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,925 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,085 mm—representing increases of 99 mm in length and 45 mm in width compared to the previous version. Exterior updates retain the vertical-slat chrome grille and brand logo but reduce overall chrome accents. The front lip is more pronounced, and the rear bumper now incorporates new aerodynamic ducting. Inside, the cabin maintains the current layout, featuring a fully digital instrument cluster and a floating dual-screen setup. Additional amenities include dual panoramic sunroofs (front and rear), laminated acoustic glass for side windows, rear privacy glass, and rear side-window sunshades. Powering the vehicle is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with front and rear electric motors, delivering a combined output of 337 kW and 644 N·m of torque. It is paired with a dedicated 4-speed DHT hybrid transmission and offers a WLTC-rated all-electric range of 172 kilometers.
