The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) recently jointly summoned several automakers for talks, focusing on irrational low-price competition within the industry. This move signals regulators' view that the ongoing price war among automakers has approached a critical threshold, and the current model of sustained price-cutting and dumping is unsustainable. Some companies have been operating at a loss on every vehicle sold, and if this trend continues, it could trigger severe operational risks, potentially leaving most firms unable to survive until 2030.
