BMW unveiled the M Vision Neue Klasse concept car on the evening of June 12 (Beijing time). Built on BMW’s next-generation Neue Klasse architecture, this vehicle marks the first showcase of BMW M’s new design language for the electric era. Embodying the philosophy “Born on the track, but more than just a track car,” the concept merges motorsport heritage with pure-electric technology, featuring muscular proportions, sharp lines, widened wheel arches, and pronounced shoulder contours. At the front, the iconic kidney grille blends seamlessly into the headlights, creating a shark-inspired appearance. For the first time, the design incorporates signature M Yellow lighting elements and three-dimensional Track Lights—two features destined to become defining characteristics of future M models. A V-shaped vent on the hood aids in cooling the electric powertrain, while the front apron adopts a trimaran-inspired shape, drawing cues from high-speed sailing yachts. At the rear, a ducktail spoiler and a floating diffuser enhance downforce and stability during high-speed cornering. Inside, the cabin features four integrated bucket seats made from natural fibers. The steering wheel, door panels, and roll cage are wrapped in black matte leather, while the floating instrument panel is covered in black knitted fabric embedded with M-specific hexagonal backlighting. Red accents on the M gear selector, steering-wheel shift paddles, and digital displays further amplify the performance-oriented ambiance. Powering the vehicle are four electric motors, centrally managed by a new computing platform called “Heart of Joy.” This system enables individual control of drive and braking at each wheel, facilitating aggressive regenerative braking, optimized traction, and immediate response. The car utilizes an 800V electrical architecture and packs a 100 kWh battery composed of sixth-generation cylindrical cells, supporting both high-power output and fast charging. The battery housing is structurally integrated into the front and rear axle systems, enhancing body rigidity and dynamic performance.
