FAW-Volkswagen has issued an apology letter to certain Sagitar owners regarding reports of white powder being emitted from air vents and has announced a resolution. According to their analysis, this phenomenon is related to the accumulation of raw liquid from the hydrophilic coating on some air conditioning evaporators, which dries and forms white particles. Testing by an independent, authoritative third-party institution confirmed that these particles consist primarily of polyvinyl alcohol and pose no harm to human health. The affected vehicles are specific Sagitar models produced between September 2025 and January 2026. Effective immediately, FAW-Volkswagen is offering free air conditioning system inspections. If the issue is detected, the company will replace the evaporator with a brand-new, genuine OEM part at no cost and provide a 15-year quality warranty on the entire air conditioning assembly. These repair services and associated customer protections will remain valid indefinitely. Owners may contact their nearest FAW-Volkswagen authorized dealer to schedule an inspection.
