On June 12, the Beijing Off-Road BJ30 Traveler Highlight Edition was launched at BAIC’s Zhuzhou Super Factory. Two variants are available, with an official manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) ranging from RMB 112,900 to RMB 139,900, and a special trade-in price starting as low as RMB 82,900 to RMB 109,900. The new model retains its iconic boxy silhouette and debuts three exclusive exterior colors: Lava Orange, Dome Blue, and Hanchuan Gray. It also features an electrified styling kit and star-ring design alloy wheels. Inside, it is equipped with 64-color ambient lighting and a HiFi audio system with 10 speakers. With a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the vehicle offers a rare-for-its-class three-row, seven-seat layout in the sub-RMB 100,000 segment, delivering an impressive interior space utilization ratio of 66%. It includes 38 storage compartments throughout the cabin and boasts a generous standard trunk capacity. When the rear seats are folded completely flat, they create a 1.92-meter-long level load floor, expanding cargo volume to a maximum of 1,496 liters. Built on a dedicated off-road platform, the BJ30 Traveler Highlight Edition is equipped with an ATS intelligent electric all-terrain control system. Powertrain options include both gasoline and HEV hybrid versions. The Highlight Edition features a triple-power, four-wheel-drive, six-mode HEV hybrid system, combining a dedicated hybrid engine with 41% thermal efficiency and dual front/rear electric motors. The rear axle motor’s output has been increased from 55 kW to 70 kW, and the vehicle now uses a high-performance AGM battery with three times the lifespan of conventional units. Real-world testing shows fuel consumption under 5 L/100 km and a driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel.
