Peugeot has officially launched the e-208 GTi, the brand’s first all-electric performance model, positioned as a "hot hatch." The vehicle is powered by an M4+ electric motor delivering a maximum output of 207 kW (281 hp) and peak torque of 345 N·m, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with a top speed limited to 180 km/h. It features a 54 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 375 km; opting for the standard-fit Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tires reduces this figure to 352 km. The e-208 GTi supports 100 kW DC fast charging, replenishing the battery from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes, and boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio. Its chassis has been performance-tuned, featuring a 25 mm lower ride height, widened track, bespoke springs and dampers, a mechanical limited-slip differential, and an additional anti-roll bar on the rear axle that works in tandem with the existing front anti-roll bar. Exterior highlights include a unique front lip spoiler, a redesigned rear diffuser finished in gloss black, and F1-inspired rear fog lights. Red accents, flared wheel arches, “drilled” 18-inch alloy wheels, and distinctive “208 GTi” badging on the C-pillar further emphasize its performance credentials. Inside, red dominates the cabin—seen on the carpets, floor mats, seatbelts, and stitching. The sport seats pay homage to the iconic 205 GTi 1.9, while a central red insert and mesh detailing echo the 205 GTi 1.6. The steering wheel combines leather and Alcantara, complemented by a red-themed digital display and optional seven-color ambient lighting. Additionally, the car features a dynamic “sound atmosphere” system that varies with vehicle speed and can be manually deactivated. The e-208 GTi is now available for order in France, with a starting price of €42,900 including taxes.
