Documents from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reveal that the 2027 Lincoln Corsair is already in the planning stages and will be produced at Lincoln’s Chongqing plant in China for export back to the U.S. market. The model will be offered in two trims—Premiere and Reserve—and will come standard with all-wheel drive, powered by a hybrid system centered around a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Previously, Ford announced in 2025 that it would discontinue the Escape and Lincoln Corsair in the U.S. to make way for electric vehicles. Currently, the Corsair sold in China offers two powertrain options: one is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing a maximum output of 190 kW, and the other is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid system. Since neither of these configurations matches the description in the U.S. regulatory documents, the 2027 U.S.-spec Corsair is expected to adopt the same hybrid powertrain as the Aviator Hybrid—specifically, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering a combined system output of 213 kW. Compared to previous U.S.-market versions, the China-spec Corsair features more luxurious appointments and a tech-focused interior. It includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 27-inch panoramic display composed of a central infotainment screen and a passenger-side screen. The front seats are 24-way power-adjustable semi-aniline leather seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while the rear seats offer heating and up to 12 degrees of recline. Additional features include ambient lighting and a 14-speaker Revel audio system.
