On June 13, at the 2026 China Automotive Chongqing Forum, Li Bin, founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, stated that competition in China's automotive industry has shifted from single-point advantages to systemic competition. He explained that in the past, companies could achieve strong momentum by relying on a single strength—such as a specific powertrain type, high-end features (like refrigerators, TVs, or large sofas), or a single best-selling model. Today, however, success requires enterprises to build comprehensive competitive capabilities across product definition, technological reserves, supply chain management, cost control, quality assurance, manufacturing prowess, sales and service systems, and brand building.
