Leapmotor recently officially commenced localized assembly and production of its C10 model at the Gurun plant in Kedah, Malaysia. The mass production launch coincided with the inauguration of distribution operations by local automotive dealer Cycle & Carriage. Leveraging Stellantis Group’s local manufacturing capabilities and Cycle & Carriage’s established dealership network, both parties aim to advance Leapmotor’s local operations in the Malaysian market. The Leapmotor C10 is a core model tailored for Southeast Asian markets and has already garnered notable market recognition locally. Localized assembly will shorten vehicle delivery lead times and optimize supply chain costs, enabling better alignment with local customer needs. The Gurun facility employs a complete vehicle manufacturing system and quality control standards to ensure consistent product quality for mass-produced vehicles. According to plans, in addition to the C10, the Leapmotor B10 model will also be introduced for localized production at this plant in the future, further enriching the company’s product lineup in Southeast Asia. Leapmotor stated that the commencement of production at its Malaysian facility marks a significant milestone in its global strategy, and it will continue leveraging resources from global partners to enhance its overseas production, sales, and service systems.
