TE Connectivity’s Automotive segment officially inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Chongchuan District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, on June 15. With a total investment of USD 150 million and a gross floor area of approximately 39,900 square meters, the Nantong facility is one of TE Connectivity’s core manufacturing hubs in China. The Nantong site primarily produces high-voltage connectors for new energy vehicles (NEVs) and high-speed, high-frequency automotive data connectors. It also serves as TE Connectivity’s sole production base in China for integrated advanced driver-assistance floating cameras and in-vehicle USB Type-C data cables. The facility features comprehensive manufacturing capabilities, including injection molding, equipment machining, and full-process assembly, and incorporates smart logistics, intelligent traceability, and automated error-proofing technologies, fully aligning with the company’s mature Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In terms of sustainability, the facility was built to “Star-rated Energy-Saving Factory” standards, equipped with a high-efficiency photovoltaic system and a rainwater recycling system. It has achieved near-complete recycling and reuse of injection molding raw materials during production. The new facility is expected to create over 1,000 local jobs and significantly enhance TE Connectivity’s ability to serve China’s rapidly growing new energy vehicle and intelligent connected vehicle industries.
