The 17th AUTOSAR Open Conference (AOC) was held at the Conrad Shanghai, China, on June 10–11, 2026, attracting over 300 automotive industry experts, technical representatives, and academics from 17 countries and regions, including China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, India, and the United States. Attendees represented a broad spectrum of organizations, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, software companies, semiconductor and hardware vendors, research institutions, and media outlets. On the first day of the conference, the AUTOSAR Consortium and Puhua Basic Software jointly announced the successful completion of a significant technical contribution to CAPI (Common Adaptive Platform Implementation). AUTOSAR Chairman Thomas Rüping presented Puhua Basic Software with the CAPI Outstanding Contribution Award, with General Manager Liu Hongqian attending the award ceremony. This milestone marks a pivotal shift for AUTOSAR—from specification-driven development toward practical engineering implementation—and aims to support the advancement of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and AI-Defined Vehicles (AIDV). The conference featured multiple keynote speeches: On June 10, Zheng Yali from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers analyzed industry trends, while Cui Aiguo from Huawei introduced the digital foundation for intelligent vehicles. On June 11, Dr. Ralf Grassnick of BMW China shared insights on E/E architecture innovation strategies, and Dr. Li Chunqiang from Alibaba’s DAMO Academy discussed the application of RISC-V in automotive electronics. Multiple parallel sessions covered topics such as the integration of AUTOSAR and AI, cross-domain controller integration, adaptive platform evolution, SOA development and testing, efficiency optimization, unified unit testing strategies, and CAPI implementation practices. Additionally, a roundtable discussion explored AI’s impact on the automotive software industry, complemented by networking opportunities including coffee breaks, receptions, and exhibitions. The event received extensive media coverage, with participation from CCTV, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology News and Communications Center, Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, China News Service, and more than 20 other leading domestic media outlets publishing related reports simultaneously.
