On June 16, Geely Galaxy announced that its model Zhanjian 700 successfully completed the "Zero-Speed Direct Climb of Ni San Guo" challenge. Located deep within the Badain Jaran Desert in Alxa Right Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, "Ni San Guo" is a notoriously difficult sand dune terrain well-known among off-road enthusiasts for its steep incline and loose, soft sand. The maneuver requires a vehicle to ascend the steep sandy slope directly from a complete standstill, without any run-up. The Zhanjian 700 is equipped with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid system and features differential locks. It delivers a combined system output of 830 kW (approximately 1,128.8 horsepower) and boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 392 hp per ton. Geely claims the Zhanjian 700 achieves the highest power-to-weight ratio among all globally produced off-road vehicles, the highest combined system output among all globally produced plug-in hybrid off-roaders, and is the world’s only mass-produced plug-in hybrid off-road vehicle equipped with both a tri-motor AWD system and differential locks.
