Geely officially launched the fifth-generation Emgrand i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid Sedan on June 16. Built on Geely’s next-generation BMA Evo global modular architecture, the vehicle is offered in three variants: the 1.5L + DHT Yufeng Edition, Zhuiguang Edition, and Dengfeng Edition, with official launch prices of RMB 87,900, RMB 93,900, and RMB 97,900 respectively. Limited-time promotional prices are set at RMB 78,900, RMB 84,900, and RMB 88,900. The new model features a polygonal front grille with vertical-slat mesh, triple-segment LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamp clusters, and chrome-accented polygonal air intakes on either side of the front bumper, complemented by a trapezoidal lower air intake. Based on the same platform as its ICE counterpart—which achieves a torsional rigidity of 26,000 N·m/deg and uses high-strength steel for 70% of its body structure—the Emgrand i-HEV delivers robust foundational performance. Powering the vehicle is Geely’s proprietary i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid System, featuring a decoupled dual-motor P1+P3 layout paired with an 11-in-1 hybrid electric drive unit. The drive motor delivers a peak output of 230 kW. The system incorporates a dedicated engine certified by China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) with a thermal efficiency of 48.41%—the highest among all mass-produced engines globally today. Under WLTC conditions, the electric drive dominates over 80% of driving scenarios, reducing engine runtime by more than 27% compared to conventional hybrids. The car can operate in pure-electric mode at speeds up to 66 km/h, achieving a 0–30 km/h acceleration time of just 1.84 seconds, with a power response latency of only 10 milliseconds. In terms of NVH performance, the vehicle employs Geely’s self-developed EOC (Engine Order Cancellation) active noise control technology and intelligent engine stop-position prediction algorithms, cutting start-up vibrations by 32.7%. Overall cabin noise levels are just 1 dB higher than those of a pure electric vehicle. On the intelligence front, the system leverages Geely’s full-domain AI 2.0 technology and debuts the Galaxy AI Cloud Powertrain 2.0 large model. This enables real-time sensing of environmental parameters—including temperature, humidity, and altitude—and dynamically optimizes energy management strategies, delivering over 10% improvement in overall energy efficiency. Built on Geely’s GEEA 3.0 dedicated electronic/electrical architecture, the vehicle supports seamless data sharing and coordinated control across domains including intelligent driving, cockpit, chassis, and powertrain.
