Celanese announced that its polyoxymethylene (POM) material, produced via its Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technology platform using captured industrial carbon dioxide emissions, has been used by Aisan Industry Kentucky, LLC to manufacture fuel pump modules for a North American automaker. The material, branded as POM ECO-C, delivers the same performance and quality as conventional POM while significantly reducing the product’s carbon footprint. It is a drop-in solution that requires no modifications to customers’ existing product designs or manufacturing processes. Celanese stated that its mass balance-based CCU platform enables low-carbon material solutions across its acetyl chain and engineered materials businesses.
