On June 11, 2026, Bentley Motors held an exclusive preview event in Shanghai for the new Bentley Flying Spur. During the event, Andreas Schrabauer, Managing Director of Bentley Motors for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, granted an in-depth media interview, outlining the brand’s latest progress in electrification, product planning, and its strategy for the Chinese market. Schrabauer stated that Bentley is leveraging hybrid systems to accumulate technical expertise for future all-electric models, emphasizing that core technologies such as Bentley Dynamic Ride can be adapted to both hybrid and fully electric platforms. He noted that the new Flying Spur blends traditional and contemporary design elements, harmonizing sporty aesthetics with refined elegance, and offers a range of derivative models and exterior styles to meet the diverse lifestyle needs of Chinese customers. In terms of user experience, Bentley focuses on integrating visual, auditory, and olfactory senses to create immersive experiences such as “acoustic luxury.” Schrabauer stressed that technological applications must align with customer needs without being intrusive, and that while staying true to its heritage, Bentley will ensure its first all-electric vehicle strikes a balance between innovation and distinctive identity. Regarding the Chinese market, Schrabauer mentioned that Bentley is undergoing a moderate adjustment in its delivery mix in China. The launch of the new Flying Spur coincides with a rising demand among business owners for vehicle replacements, which is expected to bolster brand confidence and drive overall sales. Bentley remains committed to deepening its presence in China, strengthening its brand premium, and expanding into new customer segments.
