ETAS Launches Full-Stack TSN Solution Spanning Simulation to Real-Vehicle Validation

To address the stringent requirements imposed by intelligent vehicles and autonomous driving on in-vehicle networks—including deterministic latency, nanosecond-level time synchronization, high-bandwidth transmission, link redundancy, and guaranteed priority for critical traffic—ETAS has launched a full-stack Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) solution. This solution spans five key phases: protocol stack, simulation, testing, ECU integration, and in-vehicle validation, forming a complete engineering closed loop. At its core is the RTA-CAR TSN protocol stack, which supports IEEE 802.1AS (time synchronization), 802.1Qbv (time-aware scheduling), 802.1CB (frame replication and elimination), CBS (credit-based shaper), as well as QoS, VLAN, and PTP/gPTP functionalities. It is compatible with Classic AUTOSAR and mainstream MCU/SoC platforms, emphasizing integrability and readiness for mass production. The accompanying TSN simulation platform enables virtual network construction on a PC for MIL/SIL simulation, topology validation, GCL scheduling analysis, latency evaluation, and QoS configuration—supporting early-stage architecture design. For testing, the solution provides a TSN Test Box, host-side analysis software, PPS hardware time synchronization, protocol conformance testing, packet capture capabilities, and automated performance evaluation tools. The solution is compatible with mainstream automotive hardware, such as the Marvell 88Q5152 TSN switch, and has undergone real-vehicle-level validation using complex multi-hop test benches. Representative test scenarios include: - Verification of 802.1AS time synchronization accuracy - Lossless packet capture and analysis - Comparative evaluation of CBS traffic shaping effectiveness - Link redundancy and fault tolerance testing with 802.1CB - Optimization of brake signal transmission latency and jitter through 802.1Qbv time-aware scheduling This full-stack solution aims to bridge the engineering gap between TSN standard comprehension and mass deployment, offering OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers a complete pathway from lab validation to in-vehicle implementation.
