NIO has announced that the new five-seat variant of its ES8 will open for reservations on June 28 and is scheduled to officially launch and begin deliveries in early July. Built on NIO’s NT3.0 platform, the vehicle features a 900V high-voltage architecture, dual-motor all-wheel drive, a combined output of 520 kW, a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.97 seconds, and a CLTC-rated range of 635 kilometers. It also supports NIO’s battery swap ecosystem. In terms of dimensions, the five-seat version shares identical measurements with the six- and seven-seat variants: 5,280 mm long, 2,010 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. By eliminating the third-row seats, the model significantly enhances trunk capacity and second-row legroom, catering specifically to premium family users who do not require a third row. Since the delivery of the third-generation ES8 began in September 2024, cumulative deliveries have surpassed 110,000 units within just 245 days. As of May 2025, the ES8 has achieved monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units for seven consecutive months. In May alone, retail sales reached 11,472 units, making it the only model in China’s large SUV segment and the passenger vehicle market priced above RMB 400,000 to surpass the 10,000-unit monthly sales mark. It has also ranked as the top-selling model in both segments for six consecutive months.
