On June 22, the smart brand unveiled the interior design and exterior details of its all-new model, the #2, for the first time. The vehicle retains a two-door, two-seat layout, featuring front seats that can transform into a continuous bench seat. A foldable center armrest connects the two seats when lowered, integrating window and door lock controls with a circular pull strap for intuitive operation—enhancing both spatial openness and flexibility. In terms of powertrain, the #2 adopts a dedicated electric vehicle architecture, moving away from shared platforms used for both internal combustion engine and electric models. Through optimized wheelbase and front/rear overhang designs, cabin space utilization is improved, while a turning diameter of 6.95 meters enhances maneuverability in urban environments. The car is equipped with a 35.7 kWh battery pack, delivering nearly 400 km of range under CLTC conditions, and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. It also features a multi-link independent suspension system. The currently displayed version is a concept model. According to the manufacturer, the production version will be finalized within the coming months, with no significant design changes expected. The new model is scheduled to debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2024 and is expected to launch in 2027, with production taking place at a domestic factory in China.
