Porsche Adjusts Production and Product Strategy Amid Declining Demand

From:Internet Info Agency 2026-06-22 18:31:00

On June 22, Porsche adjusted its production plans to align with current market conditions amid declining global demand for luxury vehicles. CEO Michael Lietz stated that although sales volumes may decline, Porsche remains committed to improving profit margins on both existing and future models and expects to achieve higher profitability. To control costs, Porsche plans to deepen collaboration with Audi on platforms and technologies to share rising corporate expenses. Regarding its product lineup, the development roadmap for the three-row flagship SUV project, internally codenamed K1, has undergone multiple revisions, and a final decision on whether to proceed has not yet been made. Additionally, the brand is evaluating the feasibility of two new models: a hypercar and a luxury grand tourer coupe, with final production decisions contingent on market feedback. In response to media reports speculating about potential layoffs of 2,000 to 4,000 employees, Porsche executives declined to comment directly, stating that a comprehensive cost-reduction plan will be announced before the summer holiday break in July.
