The Hongqi G9 is positioned as a premium, rugged SUV and will launch in the third quarter. It features a boxy body design with illuminated logos, circular daytime running lights combined with Huawei’s “Smart Driving Blue Light,” and “Star-Grabbing” door handles. The side profile includes an L-shaped “Sky Mirror” design element and prominent chrome trim strips, along with optional features such as new wheel designs and a rear-mounted storage box. In terms of intelligence, all variants come standard with Huawei’s 896-line LiDAR, with an option to add three additional solid-state LiDAR units, enabling full-scenario advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The vehicle is equipped with air suspension and electromagnetic damping, automatically adjusting ride height and damping force to balance on-road comfort with off-road capability. Powertrain options include both extended-range and all-electric versions, both featuring dual motors—160 kW at the front and 277 kW at the rear—for a combined peak system output of 437 kW, delivering an estimated 0–100 km/h acceleration time in the 4-second range. The extended-range variant offers either a 56 kWh or 75.4 kWh battery pack, providing WLTC-rated all-electric ranges of 238 km and 312 km, respectively. The all-electric version comes with a 120 kWh battery pack, achieving a CLTC-rated range of 728 km. All models are built on an 800V high-voltage architecture supporting ultra-fast charging. The vehicle measures 5,206 mm in length (5,377 mm including the externally mounted spare tire), 2,050 mm in width, and 1,897 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.
