Nine government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, jointly issued a notice announcing measures to support the development of the recreational vehicle (RV) and camping industry. Key initiatives include improving the RV travel and usage environment by optimizing local policies governing RV access to roads; streamlining approval procedures for RV campground land use; and enhancing supporting services at campgrounds. High-standard, multi-functional RV campgrounds will be developed along scenic byways and in suburban areas near cities, equipped with services such as maintenance and supplies, water and electricity infrastructure, medical rescue, and dining and accommodation facilities. The notice also calls for improved signage at RV campgrounds and the release of curated tourism routes. When constructing new or renovating existing public parking lots, cities should, where feasible, designate dedicated parking spaces for both self-propelled and towable RVs and strengthen their management. Additionally, the notice emphasizes upgrading the RV manufacturing industrial chain, supporting eligible regions in establishing RV industry clusters, and fostering leading enterprises with core technologies, full-chain integration capabilities, and international competitiveness. Enterprises will also be encouraged to increase R&D investment to develop market-oriented RV products featuring eco-friendliness, intelligence, lightweight design, and age-friendly adaptations.
