On June 22, Spain's Ebro Automotive Group announced the launch of a new M1 production line at its Ebro plant in the Barcelona Free Trade Zone, operated jointly with China's Chery Automobile. The 696-meter-long line features 97 workstations and has a cycle time of approximately 75 minutes per vehicle. It is currently used to produce various powertrain versions of the Ebro S400 and S700 models. The line is designed to accommodate up to five different vehicle models and includes reserved capacity for the all-electric models scheduled for launch in 2027. The new production line is part of Ebro Automotive Group’s overall investment exceeding €150 million, which is primarily allocated to modernizing the factory, upgrading its intelligent manufacturing capabilities, and expanding production capacity. The facility now operates more than 200 robots involved in various industrial processes and is progressively integrating welding and painting operations.
