XPeng Launches Malaysia Plant with First G6 Models Off the Line

XPeng Inc.'s EPMB plant in Melaka, Malaysia, has officially commenced production, with the first locally assembled XPeng G6 models rolling off the line and capacity ramp-up activities underway simultaneously. This facility marks XPeng’s third localized manufacturing base globally. Previously, in Q3 2025, XPeng launched its first European localized production project at Magna’s plant in Graz, Austria, where initial batches of the G6 and G9 models entered mass production. The Austrian facility is expected to expand production to additional models in the future. In July of the same year, XPeng’s first overseas intelligent manufacturing base began operations in Indonesia, delivering the first locally produced X9 to a local customer. In May 2026, XPeng delivered a total of 32,158 vehicles, representing a 4% increase month-over-month. For Q1 2026, the company reported a gross margin of 20.6%, up 5 percentage points year-over-year; service and other revenue reached RMB 2.03 billion, an increase of 41.2% year-over-year; R&D expenses amounted to RMB 2.91 billion, up 46.8% year-over-year; and cash reserves stood at RMB 42.09 billion as of the end of the quarter. The company has provided guidance for Q2 deliveries of between 100,000 and 106,000 vehicles, representing a 59.54% to 69.11% increase quarter-over-quarter, and revenue guidance of RMB 19.6 billion to RMB 20.8 billion, reflecting a 50.38% to 59.59% sequential increase.
