During the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum held in Dalian on June 24, Lu Fang, Chairman and Party Secretary of Voyah Auto, shared his views on the recent trend in the automotive industry dubbed "If you don’t believe it, go live-stream it." He described this trend as positive, reflecting the industry’s gradual return to authentic performance and transparent competition. Lu pointed out that some automakers previously engaged in false advertising—such as using AI-generated content, excessive video editing, or exaggerating vehicle capabilities—which essentially amounted to deceiving consumers. He stressed that such practices not only violate advertising laws but also damage the industry’s integrity, creating a vicious cycle akin to the "theater effect," where companies continuously escalate their marketing claims, ultimately harming the entire ecosystem. He emphasized that companies and individuals with public influence should exercise greater caution in their words and actions, comply with laws and regulations, and engage users with sincerity. Lu advocated returning genuine product choice to consumers, rather than swaying their decisions through gimmicks or misleading information. Earlier, on June 22, Li Xiang, Chairman and CEO of Li Auto, publicly stated that the "If you don’t believe it, go live-stream it" phenomenon signifies industry progress, demonstrating that companies are now willing to be tested in real-world scenarios.
