Mercedes-Benz has announced that the launch event for its all-new all-electric GLC SUV will be held on the evening of July 8 at the No. 3 Blast Furnace in Shougang Park, Beijing. The vehicle opened for pre-orders in early June, with a starting pre-sale price of RMB 349,000. Buyers can enjoy a deposit amplification offer—paying a RMB 3,000 deposit counts as RMB 10,000—and complimentary cabin configuration upgrades. The new model features Mercedes-Benz’s latest design language, highlighted by an illuminated grille embedded with 942 polycarbonate backlighting elements that support sequential lighting effects. Star-patterned motifs are integrated into the headlights. A fixed panoramic sunroof comes standard across all trims, and multiple wheel designs are available. Dimensions measure 4,949 mm (or 4,933 mm) in length, 1,970 mm (or 1,914 mm) in width, and 1,710 mm (or 1,690 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,027 mm, built on a unibody structure. Inside, the dashboard features a dual-screen setup with 1,000 individually controlled LED backlight zones. The system includes the “Xiao Ben” virtual assistant and offers amenities such as wireless smartphone charging, dual cup holders, and a Burmester sound system with 19 speakers. A six-seat configuration is available, with the second row featuring individual seats equipped with ventilation and heating functions. Powered by an 800V electrical architecture, the vehicle uses CATL-supplied ternary lithium-ion batteries, delivering a CLTC-rated range of up to 680 km—or 703 km for the long-range variant. Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 22 minutes.
