At the Shanghai Asia Logistics Biennale, Cainiao officially unveiled its Level 4 autonomous logistics vehicle, the GT 2026, designed specifically for heavy-duty urban distribution scenarios. The vehicle supports a payload of 1,780 kg and features a cargo compartment with a volume of 6.2 m³, making it suitable for transporting heavy supermarket goods, fresh produce requiring cold-chain logistics, and bulky construction materials. Built on a 400V high-voltage platform, the GT 2026 is equipped with a 40.8 kWh battery, delivering a maximum range of 230 km. It supports DC fast charging, enabling a charge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes—ideal for quick energy replenishment during transit stops or driver breaks, thus facilitating round-the-clock continuous operations. The vehicle offers customizable configurations tailored to diverse use cases, including urban delivery, cold-chain logistics, and intra-campus shuttle services. On the day of its launch, Cainiao’s autonomous vehicle unit announced an on-demand logistics partnership with Alipay and Jusong Intelligence. Additionally, Cainiao signed strategic cooperation agreements with five companies: Cainiao Global Supply Chain, Taobao Flash Delivery, Huading Cold Chain, Antong Logistics, and Lian Si Fang. Public records indicate that Cainiao began developing autonomous logistics vehicles in 2015 and has since launched a series of products, including Xiao G, Xiaomanlv, Damanlv, and the GT. In 2026, Cainiao’s autonomous vehicle division completed a deep strategic integration with Jusong Intelligence, forming the world’s largest RoboVan joint fleet.
