On June 25, Chery Vilor officially released the interior official images of the Vilor P3X—the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid pickup truck. Centered around the intangible cultural heritage-inspired mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship, the new model is positioned as a “mobile off-road villa,” emphasizing class-leading interior space and passenger-car-level comfort features. The cabin features soft, generously padded materials in two color schemes—Warm Brown and Pure Black—with a subtle sheen that creates an ambiance reminiscent of a premium family SUV. Design details echo the mortise-and-tenon philosophy of “nail-free interlocking.” A 15.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen is complemented by well-organized physical buttons for easy operation even while wearing gloves. The front seats recline fully flat (180°) and feature adjustable seat cushions, along with integrated ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The second-row seatbacks offer adjustable angles between 27° and 31°. An optional onboard refrigerator with sterilizing and temperature-control capabilities can run continuously for 1 to 4 hours after the vehicle is turned off. Exterior styling maintains a boxy, rugged aesthetic, highlighted by a square grille paired with inset round retro-style headlights, creating a “square-within-round” visual effect. Clean character lines run along the sides, accentuated by flared wheel arches and all-terrain tires. The rear features an “H”-shaped full-width taillight, while the tailgate includes a perforated panel for modular accessories. The cargo bed incorporates a tiered sliding rail partition system, enabling over 20 customizable storage configurations, plus a concealed 50-liter storage compartment on the side. The vehicle offers 33 pre-installed mounting points throughout, facilitating easy addition of off-road and camping gear such as snorkels and roof racks. Under the hood, the P3X is powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.5L turbocharged diesel engine with an electric motor. It is equipped with an intelligent four-wheel-drive system featuring three differential locks and multiple off-road driving modes, making it capable across challenging terrains including gravel, mud, and steep inclines.
