Shanghai authorities have launched a special rectification campaign effective immediately to regulate online information dissemination in the automotive industry. Led by the Municipal Cyberspace Affairs Office in collaboration with the Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Cybersecurity Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, and other relevant departments, the campaign targets false information and misleading pricing details in online vehicle transactions, as well as unlawful content that deliberately disparages the auto market or incites irrational consumer维权 activities. The initiative aims to prevent self-media outlets and MCN agencies from spreading false vehicle pricing information online, which could mislead consumer expectations and disrupt the normal functioning of the automotive market.
